Lessons
We ask that all students arrive at the studio five minutes before their scheduled lesson begins. To avoid the spread of germs, we ask that all students wash their hands before beginning their lesson. Teachers will greet students in the waiting room when it is time for the lesson to begin. If the instructor is running late, time will be made up at the end of the lesson. Parents and siblings are welcome to stay in the waiting room, however we ask that noise be kept to a minimum, so as not to disturb lessons.
Fees
Lesson fees must be paid by one of our three payment options. Payment is due at the time of registration.
There is a $45.00 annual registration fee ($55.00 per family). This is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable.
Students will need repertoire book(s). Instructors will advise repertoire books based on each individual student. Repertoire costs and other lesson materials are not included in the fees.
All cheques should be made out to Con Brio Music.
Overdue Fines
An additional fee of $30.00 will be charged for all NSF cheques.
If a payment is not received by the first of the month, a late fee of $2.00 per day will apply.
If payments are not up to date, lessons will be terminated once payments are one month overdue.
Holidays
All statutory holidays are observed, Pro-D days are not considered holidays; therefore students are expected to attend lessons as scheduled. Please see our important dates handout for specific holiday closures.
Performances
Although it may seem intimidating at first, public performance can be a great experience and an avenue to develop confidence as a musician.
Performance is never mandatory, but we do encourage students to take part in what Con Brio has to offer. Individual teachers will inform you about upcoming master-classes and informal performances. Ask your instructor for information about additional performance opportunities.
Con Brio offers all students the opportunity to perform in our student recitals in December and June. These are optional performance opportunities, but are open to all students regardless of age or ability.
Missed Lessons
There will be no refund or credit for missed lessons for any reason, Teachers may consider scheduling a make up lesson due to illness or family emergency only, as time permits. Due to scheduling restraints, we are unable to guarantee make up lessons missed by students. Any lessons missed by teachers will be made up during the calendar year. A substitute teacher may be provided in the event of a teacher`s absence. Students are asked to avoid coming to lessons if they are ill.
Unattended Minors
Con Brio Music does not assume any responsibility for the well-being and safety of minors who are left unattended on the school premises.
Early Withdrawal
Students wishing to withdraw from lessons prior to the end of the year will be required to give one month`s written notice. Request for withdrawal must be a typed signed hard copy letter. Unfortunately, we cannot accept request for withdrawal via email or phone. Early withdrawal is only accepted until April 30th.
Inclement Weather Closings
We reluctantly cancel classes due to inclement weather. Since road conditions may change during the day, please do not assume that Con Brio will be closed based on the morning closing of area schools. By the same token, if conditions worsen during the day, please check with the school before heading out. Announcement of closings are recorded on our voice-mail. One make up lesson for snow days may be given only if time allows. Please note: there are no refunds for cancelled lessons due to snow.
Scheduling
Your weekly lesson time will be determined at the time of registration. As Con Brio is a growing studio with limited space, we cannot guarantee that a different lesson time will be available, should a scheduling conflict arise during the year.
Parking & Transportation
Parking in the side parking lot adjacent to our entrance is not allowed. Parking here is limited and shared among other tenants of our building. Since we are a high traffic studio, we ask that you park on the street and use our side entrance. Please note the `residental parking`restrictions.
The number three bus stops directly outside the Con Brio studio. There is also ample bike lock-up on the corner of Moss and May.
